The Southern Cone Investment Forum: FICS2020

The Southern Cone Investment Forum (FICS2020), organized jointly by the ARCAP (Argentine Association of Private Capital, Entrepreneur and Seed), the Chilean Association of Venture Capital (ACVC), and the Agency for the Promotion of Investment, Exports and Country Image Uruguay XXI is the largest meeting in the industry of private equity and venture capital in South America.

On the first day of the event, we had a great framework of assistants and great talks of global actors of the industry. Among them, Yigal Erlich, founder of the Venture Capital industry of Israel, commented on how this country has become a global leader in the sector.

We also highlighted the participation of Jorge Argüello, Argentine ambassador in the United States; Luis Felipe Oliva, Corfo Financing and Investment Manager; Martín Benítez, from Uruguay XXI, among others.

On the second day of the Forum, the participation of the co-author of Startup Nation, Saul Singer was one of the most highlighted moments. He was part of the 30 panelists who participated in a score of panels on Private Equity and Venture Capital.

Among the latter, the “Southern Cone fund managers” session, moderated by Isabelle Chaquiriand and with the participation of Antonia Rojas, from AllVP; Luis Bermejo, from Alaya Capital Partners; and Valentina Newfoundland, from Draper Cygnus, was one of the highlighted moment of the day.
