The ACVC 2024 Summit had a great second version. The event brought together 350 investors and entrepreneurs, and important international guests, and allowed to talk about the current state of the Venture Capital industry and what is to come.
The event began on Tuesday 19th with a welcome cocktail at the Buriana restaurant, where a relaxed conversation took place. Then on Wednesday 20th, the event continued at the Renassaince Hotel, where in a dozen panels more than 30 speakers delved into crucial topics such as the relevance of the asset class, the road to exit and the desired liquidity, how to create a unicorn, and the importance of having more women in investment, to name a few.
International speakers included Shu Nyatta, co-founder and Managing Partner of Bicycle Capital; Eric A., Managing General Partner of monashees; Nico Berman, Partner of KASZEK; Salvador Ochagavia, Vice President of L Catterton, and Luiz Otávio Ribeiro, Managing Director of General Atlantic, among others. They were joined by prominent founders, including Matias Rivera Larrain of Fz Sports, and Madeleine Clavijo Verjel of Kushki.
The day also had two special moments. The first was the ACVC's recognition of the 85 years that Corfo is fulfilling and the fundamental role that this institution has played in the development of venture capital in the country.
The second moment was at the end of the day, where ACVC members awarded their peers in five categories. Manutara Ventures won the Exit of the Year award, while Impacta VC won the award for the key player in the development of the ecosystem. CMPC Ventures was chosen as the entity that most promotes women in the industry. The Ganesha Lab won the award for the most innovative thesis and Wayra won the distinction for the "best collaborative partner".
