“The next NotCo will be before Chile if the candidates do not address these issues”

“The next NotCo will go before Chile if the candidates do not address these issues,” said Francisco Guzmán, president of the Asociación Chilena de Venture Capital, to La Segunda, referring to the obstacles to entrepreneurship that exist in the country.

The interview delves into an eventual strategy to not slow down the momentum that Chilean startups are having.

Regarding the possibility of eliminating tax benefits for Private Investment Funds (FIP):
“There are exemptions that may or may not be understood wanted to be eliminated. But if FIPs are the only impact investment vehicle or venture capital, the question for candidates is What is the vehicle that will replace them? How will investment in tech startups be encouraged in any other way? If the answer is that it has not been considered. If these issues are not discussed, there will be ventures that will leave the country before and even start their first rounds outside Chile”.
