New directors of the ACVC

Innovation El Mercurio dedicated its latest edition to women and interviewed the three new members of the ACVC board: Antonia Brahm, General Manager of Nakama Ventures; Lorena González, Investment Associate at Aurus; and Evelyn Von Bischhoffshausen, General Partner at Kayyak Ventures.

“The current participation of women in the world of venture capital is very low. In developed countries, between 10% and 15% of investment funds have female partners, while in Latin America this percentage is significantly lower. In fact, in Chile, very few women are leading investment funds or participating in their decision-making. I am very concerned about this, given that having more women investors would help increase the proportion of ventures led by women," said Evelyn Von Bischhoffshausen regarding the gender gap in the ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Lorena González stated, referring to how to promote the incorporation of women into the sector, that: "Having women leading funds that inspire and are a living testimony that it is possible to actively participate in the industry, at all levels, allows more women to want to join this world that until recently was quite unknown," she said.

"We contribute a diversity of perspectives and experiences to decision-making. In addition, women also tend to have a more collaborative and problem-solving approach, which can improve the performance of investment portfolios," said Antonia Brahm, commenting on what women can bring to VC.
