Women in VC: Diversity as a performance driver

At the beginning of September, ACVC held a joint meeting with the UAI Business School on diversity and female participation at all levels.

In an interesting Fireside Chat, María de los Ángeles Romo and Sebastián Domínguez talked about how diversity is not only an issue of sympathy or fashion, but a real factor of profitability and sustainability. The call was clear: we must move from diagnosis to action, break down barriers and move the needle from within organizations to generate a profound cultural transformation.

Then, the meeting continued with a panel, in which Francisca Valdés, Director and Co-founder of Mujeres Empresarias, Fernanda Meza, Partner, Director and General Partner of the Impulsa Mujer Fund at SDK, and Felipe Acevedo, Founder and Co-CEO of Gohaus, shared lessons and experiences about the role of women in venture capital and entrepreneurship, the biases still present when raising capital, concluding that this is a multifactorial challenge, and that there are three pillars that we must promote to move forward: training, networks and visibility.
